I am neither a doctor nor any psychiatrist but my words might help you not completely but partially though..!!!
Addiction – Every form of addiction is bad no matter what..! It is not cocaine or nicotine that makes one an addict, It is a way to dodge from the harsh realities of life..! By giving up you cannot escape the realities but at least you can escape dreadful death. Intake of nicotine and alcohol will lead you nowhere..! In fact You might lose your family, friends and the most important basic happiness of life, because this addiction might distant you from all the people close to you.
I have seen lot of people who are so much into alcoholism, smoking, etc., and seen the changes in their life. The Changes will evolve in your body, in your mind and these changes will ruin not only you but every part of you which is connected to you.
We are not going to discuss about how it is going to affect your body because you must be knowing it very well as it is so much in buzz. The cigarette packets you buy, itself say about its unhealthiness, It tells how dangerous it is for you and your body, then why are you playing with your life..?

Smokers say smoking helps you in relaxing, Sit with your family and spend time with them, you might find this more relaxing. Cigarettes and alcohol are a classic way to commit suicide. You should not end up your life for these addictions.
Alcoholism and Nicotism is also known as a family disease. Each member of the family may be affected by this differently. It may destruct you and your family emotionally, mentally and physically. It leads to stressful environment at home.
What is the use of this kind of a life...?
Parental alcoholism may affect the fetus even before a child is born and severely effect normal children. Few children live in extremely unstable home environments. They never know what to expect because they are unable to predict their parent’s mood, they don’t know how to behave. Many of them have problems of depression, aggression, or impulsive behaviour. Thousands of people stop smoking and drinking a day by dying from it. Why can’t you..?
If you stop these addiction people will surely call you an old school but your inner happiness and healthiness is way much important than being called as an old school.
Break the chain now, what are you waiting for....???
A good life is when you smile often, dream big, laugh a lot and realise how blessed you are for what you have, live for it not for cigarettes and alcohol.
Your family will give you back a lot but these addictions will eat you up. Your family will help you in leading a good life but this will lead you to death and destruction.
